Muhammad Haroon General, a UCI-certified Road Elite National Commissaire, has achieved a landmark milestone for Pakistan by being selected as an official for the prestigious Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Tour de l’Avenir 2025 in France.
The event, often referred to as the “Tour de France for young riders,” will take place from August 23 to 29, 2025. Haroon’s appointment is historic, as it marks the first time a Pakistani commissaire has been chosen to officiate at a UCI-recognized race in Europe.

Out of commissaires from across Asia, Africa, South America, and Central America, only six were selected, and Haroon proudly represents Pakistan among this elite group. His selection has brought Pakistan into the global spotlight, earning recognition for the country in the world of professional cycling.
The Pakistan Cycling Federation (PCF) hailed this achievement as a major breakthrough for sports governance in Pakistan, proving that the country is ready to take its place in international cycling management and officiating.
